An Outdoor Entertaining Area Built From A Shipping Container
Port Shipping Containers has recently been featured on Channel 7’s popular TV show Better Homes & Gardens with our modified shipping container design constructed by celebrity builder Rob Palmer. Port Shipping Containers was contacted by Better Homes & Gardens to see if we would be interested in the project, and we were happy to be involved. We supplied a 10′ new build shipping container in which Rob modified it to create the ultimate man shed in the form of a BBQ Container Shack!
So how was Rob’s BBQ Container Shack Built?
We began by cutting out portals for windows and installed heavy window frames, these were then furnished with storm hatch style shutters. These items were roughed up and and given a distressed look to accommodate the beach feel. A floating deck system was then built around two edges and finished with a Merbau face plate. A tallow hard wood bar was installed in one of the portals and this was accompanied with a surf board bench seat. We added a BBQ and voila there you have Rob’s BBQ Container Shack!
What Was It Used For?
It was used for a Lyon Nathan project where they have been asking punters to submit a concept that they think would go well on “ XXXX Island”, this is Robs concept.
We knew this was the perfect opportunity for us to showcase our shipping containers and how our modified containers can be transformed into a functional entertaining area. Have a look at the below pictures that show the hard work Rob has put into his BBQ Container Shack.
