The Client’s Challenge
As Interflow’s projects often take them to diverse and constrained worksites, they needed a versatile facility that could be quickly deployed, disassembled, and relocated without hassle. However, limited ground space posed a significant challenge. They wanted to incorporate both an office and a lunchroom, but didn’t have the area to place multiple single-level units.
By embracing the concept of two storey shipping container office, Port Shipping Containers was able to solve this issue through vertical design—stacking two 20-foot containers and linking them with an internal staircase. This not only reduced the site footprint but also created a highly efficient and visually impressive setup.
A Customised, Compact Solution
Our solution used two 20 ft shipping containers, stacked to form a modern and functional workspace. This approach gave Interflow all the room of a 40ft layout but within a much smaller site footprint—ideal for urban and remote worksites alike.
The ground floor serves as a fully-equipped lunchroom, offering staff a quiet place to relax and recharge. Upstairs, the elevated office space provides excellent oversight of the surrounding work area. We installed a custom steel staircase between the levels, making access both safe and seamless.
