This Mod of the Week is quite impressive. We supplied a Side Opening Container to Mizudori Gallery to showcase there range of TOTO bathroom products in their unique TOTOcube Display Container. Once opened, you’re hit with a rustic ‘Aussie’ theme of corrugated iron, rusty steel and old timber, which contrasts beautifully with the sophisticated and clean hi-tech TOTO bathroom with bath, Neorest toilet, shower and fittings.

Mizudori Gallery is a member of the RNJ Group of companies and is the exclusive distributor of TOTO bathroom products in NSW. TOTO is the world’s market leader in sanitary ware and is the only ‘end-to-end’ manufacturer of bathroom products, everything from toilet and bath to taps and toilet roll holder.

TOTO was to exhibit at DesignBUILD at Homebush earlier this year, and secured display space in the forecourt of the centre. All Mizudori Gallery needed then was to come up with a display… how about a shipping container from Port Shipping Containers turned into a showroom? The idea of the ‘TOTOcube’ was then born!

“We felt the idea of turning a container into a showroom was pretty unusual and great idea, until we started to look around” explains Randall Cadby, Manager of Mizudori Gallery “It seems everyone is using shipping containers for all sorts of things.”
The 20′ side opening container allowed them to glaze the side for a showroom, then being able to close all doors would ensure a secure and weatherproof outdoor display. “We intend to use the TOTOcube for other outdoor events, such as golf days and Royal Shows in NSW and interstate.”

When we asked if they were satisfied with the product Randall stated “Public reaction to the TOTOcube was amazing and we are very satisfied with the result. DesignBUILD organisers told us that they were impressed and that it was definitely the “talking point” of the expo.”

“After purchasing the container, painted black, from Port Containers; the only subbies we used were the glazier, electrician and signage. All other work was carried out by ourselves. It was fun and we learnt a lot from the exercise.”
